Dankort. Together when we pay

​If you’ve lost your Dankort or Visa/Dankort, you can block it 24/7 by calling us on: +45 44 89 29 29.

When customers of one of the 42 Danish banks who offer Dankort in Apple Pay choose to add their Visa/Dankort to Apple Pay, both sides of the card are included. If they have already added their Visa/Dankort to Apple Pay, they will need to delete it and add it again to be able to pay with Dankort.

Step-by-step guide:

1. If you’re a customer in one of the 42 banks, you can update your Visa/Dankort in Apple Pay to activate the Dankort feature. Here’s how:

a. Go to the “Wallet” app on your iPhone

b. Tap “+”

c. Add your Visa/Dankort

2. If you’ve already added your Visa/Dankort in Apple Pay, you’ll need to delete it and re-add it to enable Dankort payments.

3. When you make a payment with your phone, the payment will typically go through as a Dankort transaction if the store has a Dankort agreement.

When you pay with a Visa/Dankort, the store has configured their terminal to decide whether the payment goes through the Visa or Dankort side of the card. However, as a customer, you have the option to change that choice.

In a physical store

Press the terminal’s yellow button* when it displays the amount.

If the terminal now shows a menu with Dankort, Visa, etc.: Select the desired network, tap your card or mobile, and the payment will be completed.

Otherwise: Tap your card or mobile. The terminal will then display a menu with Dankort and Visa. Select the desired card, then tap your card or mobile again to complete the payment.

If the terminal doesn’t show a menu, it may be because the store doesn’t accept both Visa and Dankort, or the terminal is an older model.

* Some terminals have other function keys – this will be shown on the display, for example as “Application Selection.”

For online purchases

On the screen where you enter your card number, you can change the card selected by the store by clicking on either the Dankort or Visa icon.

If you are paying with Apple Pay, you can choose between Dankort and Visa (and any other cards you may have) by tapping the card that Apple Pay displays.

As a consumer, in certain situations you may have the option to have a purchase charged back.
